I am back from camping and we had a great time!
We fed the chipmunks peanuts and read a million magazines.

We had a brutal thunderstorm and one night when it
dipped down to 8 degrees!!
Burrr!!!!
But it was great and I now feel like my summer is complete.
A trip to the zoo, many nights at the drive-in, MANY drinks
on the Runt Club patio and 3 camping trips.


Summer life is good!

We are back from camping and hangin' w the raccoons and chipmunks.
It was very relaxing!


I read 2 books!!! 2 books!!!! That is incredible for me.
It usually takes me 3 weeks of reading in the tub before bed to get thru a book.


And! -you know the other thing I like about camping????
Everyone is SO friendly.
You are walking to the bathroom and when you pass people they
look at and you and SMILE and say Hello!
They pass by your site and they smile.
This always blows me away...every time we go!!
Just imagine as you are walking to the variety store
or from your car to the bank and the gal who passes by you
smiles at you and says "Hi!"...for no reason.
It would be shocking!


Not to mention you can practically live in your P.J.'s....see above pic! :)


We go once more on the 17th and I can't wait!

My friends have heard me say 100 times that I wish we lived in
a time when "ladies" wore hats. Not baseball hats!!!
I am thinking nice hats. Glamorous hats.
Hats with netting and feathers.
Anyhow....I just hate the idea that people look at you as if you escaped
from some mental facility (albeit a very fashionable one!) if you where a hat
here that isn't a baseball cap.
I should just do it and quit complaining about it!
Who cares what other think!!? Right!?

I will work on making some "waterproof" ones for the spring this week.

This was a real challenge for me, since I rarely make something using all one fabric -- especially all one print."

46 days until spring & Tee Shirt Disasters!

Well today is a mish mash of stuff......
First of all I found these Kitty Wallets on Etsy.

Over the weekend I starting working on a new tee shirt.

This is the horrible sketch of what was in my head.


I CANNOT draw to save my life so I purposely left
this photo blurry and hard to look at.
It is embarrassing for a "designer" but it is a sad fact....
I never could draw and I have to learn to live w it.
Consequently I never sketch..it is all in my wee brain!
Scary thought!

Moving onward .....b/c I tend to "rattle on".

I was all excited!!


I finally got it down to this final fitting which I was really happy with.

I didn't bother w sleeves b/c I knew they would fit fine.

Then I got my pattern a graded and cut out.....


I did do one tee and I HATED it..I picked the worst fabric and it bombed.
Dammit! It was a disaster!
So, I don't have a finished tee to show you....yet.
Give me a couple of days.
They can't all be gems Pussycats!

Nothing very excitng really...and usually I put the word vintage in there
to see what kind of results I get.

Well..you how they say be careful what you wish for?

This doesn't happen everyday for me...
She was writing from Mwanza which is here....


I was curious and found these pics on line...


It looks like the complete opposite of where I thought she would be.
It looks like the Mediterranean.
Something like Morocco but then it isn't that far from Morocco.

Anyhow...I am very happy for her and I love
when my friends get to travel and make their dreams come true.

Call me small town but Africa still seems very exotic and mysterious to me.
She will be home in a week or so...can't wait to hear her stories!

Fingerless Gloves

Ok, so I have been wondering about all the fingerless
gloves I have been seeing.
We used to wear them in high school....
umm..... in the 80's.
It was more of a "hobo" look..they were always black
or grey and they had to be kinda dirty and worn looking.

Now I see all these pretty ones....fuzzy, striped and with pretty embellishments.
